Bicyclist Sustained Injuries After Being Hit by Motor Vehicle

On April 16, 2019, a bicyclist was transported to a hospital after being hit by a truck. The accident occurred near Sycamore Street and Gregg Avenue.

According to 5 News, “The witness said the collision was so strong that the cyclist’s water bottles exploded from the impact.” The cyclist suffered minor injuries.

Highway 12 Shut Down After a Two-Vehicle Wreck

A fatal accident involving an SUV and a semi-truck carrying gasoline killed one and left two injured.

The SUV driven by Sammie Hankins, 44-years-old, was traveling north on Old Highway 112, while the semi-truck driver, Gregory Herndon, 46-years-old, was driving west.

Hankins ran through a stop sign, causing Herndon to hit him. The semi-truck then veered off the road and overturned.

Herndon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Truck Hits a Construction Worker Near Leroy Pond

A construction worker on the University of Arkansas campus was hit by a truck. Capt. Gary Crain, a spokesperson for UA police told 5 News, “The driver checked on the man, who refused a transport from Central EMS and went back to work after the accident.” The man suffered no serious injuries.

Semi-Truck Accident Kills One Woman on I-40

Adrianne Sisco, 30-years-old, died after an accident with a Freightliner truck. The accident occurred on I-40 Roland.

The truck driver, Abdinor Salad-Olow, 29-years-old, and his passenger, Abdirizak Abdullahi, 39-years-old, were both transported to Baptist Health Hospital.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

28-Year-Old Killed on Highway 12

Jeramee Stansberry, 28-years-old, was driving a Nissan Altima on Highway 12 when he veered off the road and hit a tree. According to 5 News, “Arkansas State Police did not say what caused Stansberry to leave the highway.”

Stansberry died as a result of the accident.
