Two Teens Killed in Fatal Collision
Christopher Elijah Gutierrez, 18-years-old, and Atalaya Camillia Thompson, 19-years-old, both died in a fatal accident on May 6, 2019. Gutierrez was driving northbound on North Old Wire Road when he encountered a construction zone located on East Stewart Street.
According to ABC 7, “The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a John Deere front loader that was parked in a gravel area off the roadway.” There were no further injuries reported.
Man Drove Off Cliff After Losing Control of Vehicle
Billy Ray Johnson, 27-years-old, drove off a cliff close to the Northwest Arkansas Mall. Johnson was driving an SUV when he lost control of his vehicle. According to News 5, “The car went down the edge of the parking lot about 75 feet.” Johnson fled the scene of the accident.
There was a passenger in the vehicle who managed to make it inside the mall restroom before receiving medical treatment from emergency personnel. The police are still looking for Johnson in order to complete their investigation.
Single-Vehicle Wreck Killed Local Woman
Anne Carroll, 27-years-old, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree. Carroll was traveling south on U.S. 71 close to Whitehouse Road when the accident occurred. She died as a result of the crash.
Head-on Collision With Motorcycle Led to Injury
A motorcyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being involved in a head-on collision with a Chevrolet S-10 pickup. The accident occurred at Planters Road and Ball Road.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
Missing Woman Killed in Vehicle Accident
Anne Carroll Dwinell, who had been reported missing by her husband, was found dead in an accident close to a creek.
According to News 5, “A report from Arkansas State Police says Dwinell died after her car ran off the roadway and struck a tree on Hwy. 71 and Whitehouse Road in Winslow on Sunday (May 12).”
The last time that Dwinell spoke to her husband, she was about 10 minutes from their home, but she never arrived. The cause of the crash is unknown.
